INGREDIENTS:
elbow shaped pasta made of durum flour – (175g)
milk 3.2% fat – 1.75 cups
butter – 3 tablespoons (60g)
cheese mix – soft and hard (gouda, cheddar, parmesan) – (100g)
nutmeg – pinch
mustard – 1 tsp
bread crumbs – 3 tbsp
pepper, salt
PREPARATION
FIRST OF ALL!
Sneak into someone’s wasteland house, steal their pot, 2 boxes of BlamCo Mac & Cheese and use their cooker, and you can leave your mutant buddy on guard by the door. The rest should go easily.
1. PASTA + MILK + BUTTER + SALT(10-15 min)
Pour 1.5 cups of dry pasta into a large pot, add 1 and 3/4 cup of milk, add 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 teaspoon of salt. Put the pot on medium heat and stirring constantly (very important – otherwise the pasta sticks) bring to a boil. Reduce the power of the burner and cook, MIXING FROM TIME TO TIME, about 10 minutes or less, depends on the type of pasta you have. Mixing is a key to success here! During this time, the pasta should absorb the milk and thicken the whole mixture from the starch derived from the pasta. Try to see if the pasta is already semi-hard (al dente) – if not, cook until it is suitable. If all the milk would evaporate from the pot, add a little more during the process, so that the pasta cannot burn.
2. MUSTARD + NUTMEG + PEPPER (30 sek)
Add 1 teaspoon mustard, a pinch of nutmeg and some freshly ground pepper to the mixture. Again, we mix thoroughly.
3. CHEESE, CHEESE, CHEESE (3 min)
Pour 3/4 cup grated cheese into the pot, preferably a mixture of soft and hard cheeses, strong in taste. We only had soft, Gouda and mozzarella, but it also came out good. You can experiment with your favorite cheeses and look for the perfect combination, or simply add the ones you have on hand. Mix everything well with the pasta and heat on low power for a while, until the cheese dissolves and forms a creamy sauce. Set the pot from the burner, cover it with a lid and leave it for a few minutes – at this time we get to the next point.
4. FRIED BREADCRUMBS(5 min)
In the pan, dissolve the rest of the butter (1 tablespoon), add 3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs and brown them on medium heat. Remember that the crumbs take on its color for a while after turning off the burner, so take it off the heat when it turns a light brown color.
SERVING
